The Emergency Medicine Society of Ghana (EMSOG) made up of Emergency Physicians, Emergency Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians and others in the field of emergency care calls for a unified, urgent and coordinated response of Ghana’s health system to combat the rising number of COVID-19infections in Ghana especially in light of WHO’s declaration ofCOVID-19 as a pandemic.
As the COVID-19 continues to spread across the world, AFEM calls for a unified, urgentand rational response to the rising number of infections in Africa. The spread of COVID-19 poses a particularly significant threat in low resource settings,as it adds to the current burden of disease, depletes limited resources, and compounds the existing challenges in providing quality emergency care.
